I've gone ahead and chopped most of my hair off for the summer. Having long hair is a real chore for me, though I do like it braided when I have the time. It takes longer than I'd like in the shower and I end up using gallons of water. I was starting to feel awfully guilty about it, especially after reading the April issue of National Geographic Magazine on Water. I couldn't get it down to military shower timing so I thought it was high tome to make a change. I've decided to donate my hair to Locks of Love, which goes to children with cancer. But another option is to donate it to the oil spill in the Gulf though Matter of Trust.
By the way, I'm not a regular subscriber to National Geographic Magazine but there's a great show at the Annenberg Space for Photography in LA in collaboration with the magazine on the water issue. It includes all the photos from the April issue which includes work by Edward Burtynsky! It's up until June 13.
