The Lensvik(a) Play

The whole town of Lensvik (also referred to as Lensvika by Hanne) put on a play that was set in the '60s for the Kibneb-festivalen. They had some professional help from some Trondheim actors and musicians, which included Hanne's brother, Hans Petter Nilsen. Hans Petter was one of the leads in the play. We got a bit lost on the way there but made it just in time to get some seats on the top row of the stands. There were two acts and though I couldn't understand the play, I was so impressed by the whole event, that it didn't matter what language they were speaking.

The setting was outstanding, I could see across the fjord to the mountains on the other side, and the weather was beautiful. And the stage was a space between barns! There were lots of stage entrances and exits and they totally took full use of the set. There were hippies (hence the groovy love & peace VW van), housekeepers, telephone operators, lots of cute kids (including Hanne's niece), and the mayor of the town played the police man. Torbjørn explained some of the significant parts to me but I just sat there and tried to take it all in. I cannot believe how lucky I was to go to this play, out in the open, great weather, good company, and the whole town put their best foot forward. I have to say that I'm sure this will be the highlight of my Norway trip. Thank you Lensvik(a) and Hanne!
