The Bergenhus Fortress, one of the best preserved old castles in Norway, contains Rosenkrantz Tower and Haakon's Hall. Parts of the buildings date back to 1240s though an explosion of a German ship containing dynamite destroyed a good part of Bergenhus Fortress, as well as the town. One bit that we marveled at was the fact that we were able to climb atop Rosenkrantz Tower and walk around. There was no guard or height requirement. One could have easily fallen off the tower or slipped out the side of the low walls as it was quite windy. In the US, it would be such a liability. I guess Norwegians don't go around suing people left and right and just practice common sense.
