Raindrops

It was dark and moody when I walked through the park this morning. Even though we're at the height of summer, it reminded me a bit of the coming Fall. I saw this rainy day in autumn fabric from Lara Cameron and it made me long for cooler, milder weather.

Cake Rock Beach

I just spotted the new line of fabric by Purl Soho, Cake Rock Beach, on the purl bee. The water series immediately reminded me of Maria's cyanotypes. I love the honeycomb pattern.

Mina Perhonen

I found Japanese label Mina Perhonen accidentally via Lena Corwin's blog. I'm convinced I need to make my own clothes again! He designs gorgeous, fun fabrics and has great cuts on the clothes. I want a new wardrobe!

Penny round tiles

Chicago AT posted photos from their friend Amy's newly renovated kitchen. I love these tiles and would love to do a whole bathroom or even a bedroom wall with it. I've seen them used at the Rice in Brooklyn Heights on the walls near the bathroom. It also reminds me of Hable Construction's bead fabric that I love.

Purl loot

This is my loot from Purl. I picked up some of their fabric bundles and quarter and half yards for the project and some for gifting.

Progress on the swatch portraits. I don't think I bought enough embroidery hoops to cover the wall. I will try and pick up some more soon and when I'm all done, I will show you the finished wall.

I've book marked this project for months. I think it would be perfect for my mom's room, right above her antique wrought iron headboard. I think I might just make the time today to run downtown and pick up some fabric and embroidery hoops at Purl .
